New Project

Sorry I haven't been here in a while..Life got in my way AGAIN.... :) I have always made my mats in size 24"x36" because that is roughly the size my elders used for their floors to keep the feet warm. I guess any smaller wouldn't suffice; however, I decided to try a smaller one because mostly today, these mats are used for walls. I have to say I didn't enjoy hooking this small size as I have with the larger one. I think I spent just about as much time at this one as with a regular size....

I am working on one now that I am sure eveyone is tired of seeing, which I have titled "Women Spreading Fish to Dry in Outport Newfoundland", for an Eco Center in my area. Isn't it great when you get a telephone call asking to display one at their places of business? It excites me to the fullest...

  1. Well, Anne, I was starting to think you were hibernating for the winter!!! The smaller mat is equally as beautiful as your larger one. We have gone from no snow to lots of snow in only 15 days. Part of my garden has six foot drifts and it is very cold. The bay is starting to "catch". I hear you may get this monster storm...stay warm and safe!

  2. Yes, Julie, we were praising the weather up until late last week...there is no praise now..Plenty of snow and yet more to come. I noticed that you have plenty your way, as well. Love your hearts mat. I haven't had a chance to look much lately but I intend to just as soon as I can. We are in the midst of putting down floorboards and it is taking forever to do...so much for a large house..yuk!!

  4. Love your rugs, Anne! This one records some history.... very meaningful. Your flag is gorgeous, ans so nicely done. I appreciate the artistic work in these. Someday I'd like to see if you'd consider a swap of sorts? I need to keep my feet warm, too :)

  9. That rug is much too beautiful to use on the floor! Glad to see a post Anne and then to see another of your delightful rugs! Hope you are not having too bad of weather there! We narrowly escaped this huge storm but it's very cold here.
    Hugs!

  12. Paula, I used the small one that I had bought to take to Woody Island with me...I find them very tedious to work with...guess I am used to my BIG frame...
Yes, sure thing, lots of snow to dig out today but it is beautiful here now.
